The Founders
GK Partners was registered as an independent UK company in 2004 by Gibril Faal and Katharine Ford who act as co-directors and principal advisers. They met in 2001 when they were recruited as the two specialist business advisers and consultants on a pilot project that developed and implemented a social enterprise business support system in the UK. The project was under the auspices of the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), delivered by Business Link for London, which was the largest unit of the government’s national business support agency. By 2004, Gibril and Katharine were recognised as pioneers in social enterprise development in the UK. They also had between them over 30 years experience in business consultancy, research and development – having worked with FTSE100 companies, SMEs, social enterprises, voluntary organisations, charities, international NGOs, academic institutions and government bodies.
